“Petra - Wadi Rum” Reviewed by TatianaP247 on Reviewed April 11, 2013 (visited April 2013)

We travelled in Jordan twice. There were 3-4 members in our team, middle-aged and elderly. Both times our 2-day trips to Wadi-Rum from Petra were organized by Zaman Tours. Managers were very friendly and helpful, we got prompt response concerning possible options and prices. No delays, no unexpected expenses, everything in accordance with our order - that's what we needed to schedule the whole visit to the country and see places we wished to see. We recommend those who are going to visit Petra and Wadi-Rum for the first time to spend 2 days in each place, 4 days in total. Entrance ticket to Petra Archeological park valid within 2 days costs 55 dinars (50 - for one day, so almost no difference). Better to enter the park early in the morning, central part of it is overcrowded by noon. The park is really huge so one day is definitely not enough. Visitors shall leave it by sunset. We would also advise to take long jeep tours/safari in Wadi-Rum. Minimum duration is 3 hours, this is not engough to enjoy terrific places among the rocks and in the desert.

Zaman Tous organized everything in a professional and respectful way: from the beginning of my trip I was collected by driver from Amman airport and taken to my hotel. Next day in the morning, at previously arranged hour, the driver was waiting for me at the entrance and we went to the museum. The day after, again according to the plan and previous agreement, we traveled to Jerash: the driver led me to the main entrance, explained everything and wished me to enjoy my visit while he was (in my case - 2 hours) waiting for me in the bar just in front of the entrance. When I finished sightseeing, I entered the bar and he was glad to see me again. We went to Madaba and then to the Dead Sea Resort (unfortunately, there was not enough time to visit Mount Nebo on our way). After my first unforgettable experience in the Dead Sea (during which driver was waiting in the restaurant), we had a meal in the restaurant and proceeded to ancient Petra. The road was excellent, the sunset was amazing. I was safely delivered to my hotel La Maison. Next day I visited Petra, then Aqaba - again, every time the driver was 100% professional, patient, ready to make photos constantly and help with advise. Very intelligent, good-looking and humorous man. In the last day I was collected from my hotel and taken back to Amman airport. This was a perfect trip from A to Z. If I ever come to Jordan again, I will contact Zaman Tours to arrange everything.

“Zaman Tour Agency Excellent - Jordan: Petra, Wadi Rum, Dana” Reviewed by kerikLosAngeles on April 22, 2013 (visited April 2013)

We had the pleasure of working with Mohammad at Zaman Tours. This is an absolute excellent agency, highly highly recommend working with them for your trips to Petra, Wadi Rum, Dana. Mohammand from Zaman worked with us to create a private itinerary with driver (Jaffa, quiet, respectful, reliable, the best!), private guides in Wadi Rum, Petra/Little Petra, and Dana, hotel and helped us plan our time. They checked in on us throughout our visit making sure all was fine, and were flexible to work with us to extend our time. We're well seasoned travelers, and this is a gracious, professional, highly responsible agency. About our trip, Wadi Rum jeep tour (ours was with a private driver, can also be with larger group of 8 which looked like fun as well), was fantastic. Incredible journey through the desert. We had a 4-hour tour, can be longer in this beautiful desert..the highlight, the Dune! Next day we spent in Petra with our fantastic guide, Saleh...please ask for him, the best. Excellent English, a pleasure to spend the day with, warm, great sense of humor. Very knowledgeable and knows the ins/outs of Petra and will take you away from the crowd to see some really special sites. And Petra...what can you say. Pretty awesome place to visit. Third Day spend hiking in the gorgeous mountains of Dana Reserve. This is a hidden treasure that we found by looking at Trip Advisor research and on other feedback sites. If you have the time, this is a heavenly place to spend at least a day, quiet, peaceful, beautiful. Our guide was lovely, Hazem, who showed us secret pathway through the mountains. Our hotel - we stayed 2 days in 7 Wonders Hotel in Wadi Musa. Very clean, comfortable, service gracious and attentive, 5 minute walk to "downtown", prefer staying in town w/ locals than spending all time in larger hotels farther outside of town. Great visit -- recommend Zaman and our full itinerary.

“Who'Zaman?” Reviewed by Narsh on April 29, 2013 (visited April 2013)

I holidayed in Jordan recently with two friends on a six-day trip. It was short notice and we emailed a bunch of tour companies which were mentioned in the Lonely Planet with the intention of getting a handle on prices and booking if we felt it was worthwhile. Out of the nine we emailed, Zaman were by far the most competitively priced and catered to our every need. Mohammed (the owner) was in constant email dialogue with me from the Thursday evening I emailed him until the Sunday (three days later) before our flight on the Monday. Right up until the Sunday we were asking how changes would affect the cost, inquiring about different hotels, slight changes to the itinerary etc. They also made their own recommendations which were helpful. The driver was a pretty fun guy (not a mushroom, that would be weird) and, although he took us to somewhere crazily overpriced to pick up some dinner on our first evening (on our way from Amman to Aqaba) he was informative and had a sense of humour. Even during our stay we made one change to our package and Mohammed accommodated this and provided a quote and on the night we saw the sunset in Petra, his concern that nobody at his office had heard from us (we hadn't realised they were expecting to hear from us) he greeted us after our walk back, organised dinner for us and drove us back to our hotel. All in all, Jordan as a destination was outstanding and Zaman Tours made our trip as easy as we could have hoped at a very affordable price.

“Whirlwind tour of Jordan” Reviewed by minoUSA on May 22, 2013 (visited May 2013)

We recently visited Amman Jordan and Jerusalem, Palestine. My aunt also arranged for a day tour of Petra through Zaman tours, which was most amazing. I met the owner Mohammed, and felt his pride, connection, love and care for the city of Petra, for the land of Jordan, and for his amazing heritage and Bedoin culture. I would recommend Zaman tours just based on the character of the owner, and our 1-day experience, which was by far the most amazing experience I ever had.

“Excellent Petra-Wadi Rum Travel Agent” Reviewed by JonathanNYC1967 on May 30, 2013 (visited April 2013)

Mohammed of Zaman Tours is an extremely responsive travel agent who put together a very good 2-day tour of Petra and Wadi Rum, including arrangement of transportation for us to/from the border crossing to Israel at Aqaba/Eilat. We unfortunately had to cancel our trip twice before actually making it to Jordan. Mohammed was very patient and gracious about rescheduling, he took his time with us to suit the itinerary to our interests both by e-mail and over the phone, and the arrangements he made were exactly as he described. I definitely recommend working with Mohammed at Zaman Tours.

“Amazing Hospitality” Reviewed by worldtourist77 on July 18, 2013 (visited July 2013)

What a lovely experience. We took a private tour with Zaman tours to visit Petra and Wadi Rum. Mohammed responded quickly to my inquiries. He was clear with me around what we could expect. He made sure to accommodate our need for a larger vehicle (we had three _tall_ people in our group of four). He got us a van. We were greeted at the border by a representative of the company who helped with our final step of navigating the customs process. Then, we were introduced to our cheerful and informative driver Yaser who taught us about Jordan (the culture and landscape) and the Bedouins as he drove us to Petra. We had a tiny hiccough with hotels (our hotel was changed from Petra Nights from Petra Moon because the hotel claimed to not have any rooms when in fact it did - a problem with Petra Moon not Zaman Tours). Petra Nights turned out to be perfect as it was conveniently situated at the entrance of Petra and was quite lovely. Once we cleared up the hotel situation, we were taken to our hotel to quickly freshen up before starting our three hour walking tour of Petra. What an amazing place. Our guide pointed out the notable sites, shared the history of Petra (including the modern day archaeological explorations) and gave us suggestions for further touring once he left us. Petra is a site to behold. Much more expansive than many of the other archaeological sites I have visited (Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza, different parts of Europe and Great Britain). When at the monastery we were treated to a show by an acrobat who jumped along the top of the building, from one platform to the other). There were many people who were selling their wares - either by approaching us or from their booths. When we walked early in the morning of our second day of exploring Petra we were surprised to find that most of the street vendors left their goods unlocked or otherwise protected. We were picked up mid-afternoon by Yaser and taken to Wadi Rum for our jeep tour and overnight stay at a Bedouin camp. The person running the bedouin camp was somewhat disorganized, yet his crew more than made up for him. The Bedouin camp hosts were warm, welcoming. For an extra about $30 per person we took a camel ride, that ate into our tour time. We were treated on the jeep tour to time on a sand dune, at an arch and in a canyon. When we arrived at camp, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset and lots of the delicious Jordanian tea. We ate a dinner that was cooked in a pit - reminiscent of Hawaiin imu cooking - except there was a slight metallic flavor to the from the cooking pots used. The chicken was very tender. Yaser picked us promptly at 7:00 am so we could make it back to the border in time for our next adventure. We were helped as we departed Jordan with our exit fee process by a tour company representative. We bought optional turkish bath treatments. They were lovely and relaxing. The facilities were not in the best of conditions in the women's section - yet, they were clean enough. My masseuse was a lovely woman who helped get out some of the kinks in my muscles. I would recommend the experience.

I can confirm that Zaman Tours are very efficient and reliable. They respond to your email timely, which made us very comfortable before going to Jordan. We requested one day tour Petra. Because we have two kids, we requested them to arrange carriage, which was helping our kids a lot. Local guide they sent us was extremely good and knowledgeable. Actually my daughter became sick during a tour due to too much dust. But he was so kind to us and flexible enough to reorganize a tour. We could have a good time in Petra. Thank you very much!

Very friendly and efficient people, Mohammed and the driver Talat, made my trip enjoyable. Even when finishing the tour, as still left few hours for my flight, they took me to the Amman royal cars museum because I had commented that I´d like to know that. I highly recommend them.
